Profile...

Julie Newton Bennett began her decorating career in 1981 while she was working full-time at law firm in Hinesville, GA. Her passion for design and decorating was ignited during this time when she began working for a group of developers who were building condominiums and multi-family housing in the area. The new construction market was booming, and Julie embraced the chance to put her creativity and eye for style, color, and design to use.

In 1983 Julie started her own firm, and she quickly began making a name for herself in the design and construction industries. In a few short years her credits included work on the “Symphony Showhouse” in Savannah, GA, which was used as a backdrop for Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and the highly acclaimed decor of a traditional three-story Charleston Row home on Mulberry Square.

In 1993, Julie relocated to Amelia Island and established J. Newton Interiors.  During 1996, she took on the role of Interior Finishes Coordinator for the Nassau Beach Development Corporation. It was here that Julie truly began to make her design impact felt on a large scale, acting as the in-house Interior Finishes Coordinator for the luxurious Summer Beach communities of Ocean Village, Sea Chase Townhomes, and Ocean Place Condominiums; and also for the stunning Carlton Dunes, an elite condominium community located adjacent to the Ritz Carlton on the beaches of Amelia Island, Florida. Julie's work with the Nassau Beach Development Corporation set her apart as the premier, "go to" name for elegant home interiors.

Today, Julie is recognized as a first class, hands-on decorator and project coordinator and is highly sought after by many private clients in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
